We recommend doing this prior to pitching the tent. 

- Line the flashing kit up with where you want it to be.

- Use a pencil to mark through the hole where the bolts will go through

- Use a skewer or similar instrument make a small hole, one that is smaller than the nuts themselves - the purpose of this is that the nuts can then find its own way through the small hole, stretching it to make a perfect fit. 

From the outside going in, the layer should be metal/silicone/canvas/metal if this makes sense - so the tent is sitting between the silicone on the outside and the metal on the inside.
