We have 3 styles of canvas – polycotton, 285gsm Cotton and 360gsm Cotton canvas. 

Polycotton – 200gsm cotton/polyester blend. This is the lightest weight canvas, great for people just wanting a tent for weekends away or who are starting out in the camping world. As this has the polyester element we don’t advise using a stove in this tent. 

285gsm Cotton Canvas – this is our standard canvas, high quality and a thicker weight. This tent is our classic tent, perfect for campers who want to go for a natural canvas tent. As this is 100% cotton it is safe to use with a stove, as long as you are following the relevant stove safety measures. 

360gsm Cotton Canvas – this is our thickest, heaviest weight canvas. The 360gsm has also had a fireproofing treatment woven in. This is called Proban – you can read a bit more about that here https://belltentboutique.co.uk/blogs/guide/choosing-a-fire-retardant-or-fireproof-tent 

This tent is our ‘top of the range’ option. As this is 100% cotton and treated this tent is safe to use with a stove, as long as you are following the relevant stove safety measures.
