Our stoves are designed to burn wood, so we recommend using seasoned dry timber. Burning coal can cause the stove body to warp. Using unseasoned or chemically-treated timber can cause build up in the flue resulting in problems with smoke. 

The Rocket Stove will burn kindling, twigs, sticks or driftwood: drop a lit match down the top to ignite. Once the fire is going gently feed kindling in through the side opening. You can also drop fuel in from the top; this can help you achieve more heat when cooking as the fire is nearer to your pan.
